We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Writer / Operations Trainer to support Service Operations, Reverse Logistics, and Fulfillment warehouse operations. This role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and deploying Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and other operational documentation while ensuring warehouse personnel are properly trained and consistently following established processes.

The ideal candidate has experience working in warehouse, logistics, supply chain, reverse logistics, or fulfillment environments and understands how to translate complex operational processes into clear, concise, and executable documentation.

This position will work closely with Service Operations, Warehouse Operations, Quality, Inventory Control, Logistics, and site leadership to identify process gaps, implement corrective actions, and ensure operational procedures are consistently executed.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Writing & Process Documentation

• Create, maintain, and continuously improve SOPs, Work Instructions, process flows, checklists, job aids, and training materials for Service Operations, Reverse Logistics, and Fulfillment.

• Partner with warehouse and operations teams to document current-state processes and develop standardized future-state procedures.

• Review existing documentation regularly to ensure it accurately reflects current systems, processes, and operational requirements.

• Manage revisions to SOPs and WIs, including document version control, change history, approvals, and effective dates.

• Translate complex operational requirements into clear, easy-to-follow instructions for warehouse personnel.

• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and outdated instructions and drive timely updates.

• Ensure documentation supports requirements for receiving, inspection, inventory control, non-conformance, RMA processing, picking, packing, shipping, customer fulfillment, and other warehouse activities.

• Develop visual work instructions, process maps, checklists, and reference guides where appropriate.

Training & Employee Development

• Develop and deliver new-hire training for warehouse personnel covering SOPs, WIs, systems, quality requirements, inventory controls, and operational processes.

• Deliver training whenever SOPs, WIs, systems, or processes are revised.

• Coordinate refresher training when recurring process errors or compliance issues are identified.

• Maintain training materials, attendance records, competency assessments, and training completion records.

• Validate employee understanding through hands-on demonstrations, knowledge checks, and/or competency assessments.

• Partner with warehouse leadership to identify additional training needs based on operational performance and audit findings.

• Ensure new hires are trained and qualified before independently performing critical warehouse activities.

Process Auditing & Compliance

• Conduct routine process and procedural audits within Reverse Logistics and RMA Fulfillment warehouse operations.

• Observe warehouse personnel performing daily activities and verify adherence to approved SOPs and WIs.

• Identify deviations between documented procedures and actual operational practices.

• Document audit findings, determine root causes, and work with operations leadership to implement corrective actions.

• Follow up on corrective actions to verify sustained compliance.

• Identify recurring errors and determine whether the issue is related to training, documentation, process design, system functionality, or execution.

• Escalate significant process or compliance gaps that may impact inventory accuracy, customer shipments, quality, or financial controls.

• Establish and track compliance metrics where appropriate.

Continuous Improvement

• Analyze audit findings, operational errors, non-conformances, and employee feedback to identify opportunities for process improvement.

• Partner with Operations, Quality, Inventory Control, and Logistics teams to standardize best practices across warehouse locations.

• Recommend changes to processes and documentation to improve accuracy, efficiency, quality, and compliance.

• Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and other continuous-improvement initiatives.

• Help establish a culture of "document the process, train the process, audit the process."

Key Performance Indicators

Success in this role will be measured through:

• SOP/WI accuracy and on-time revision completion

• New-hire training completion and competency

• Training completion following process/document revisions

• Warehouse adherence to documented procedures

• Reduction in recurring operational errors

• Reduction in non-conformances attributable to process or training gaps

• Audit finding closure and corrective-action effectiveness
