Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering



Required Certification

• Internal Auditing Certification



Desired Certification

• CQA certification



Required Skills

• Experience auditing ISO9001, ISO17025, or CQMS (desired)

• Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports

• Basic experience with engineering software (e.g., Computer Aided Design – CAD)

• Ability to devise sampling procedures and create forms/instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality/reliability data

• Ability to establish programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production, testing, measurement, and analytical equipment

The main function of this role is to research and test the design, functionality, and maintenance of products, equipment, systems, and processes, and to develop quality standards. The quality engineer reads and interprets blueprints and evaluates product integrity and standards.



Key Responsibilities

• Devise sampling procedures and design forms/instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.

• Establish programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment.

• May write training materials and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.

• May specialize in areas such as: design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, R&D, and administrative applications.

• Team: Part of the Quality Management team at CMO.

• Key Project: Perform a gap analysis of the Caterpillar Quality Management System (CQMS) at CMO.

• Additional Duty: Assist in resolving issues by selecting the best solutions.

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct internal quality audits.

• Generate reports on the quality status of the CQMS and significant trends indicated by data.

• Identify, analyze, and resolve non-conformance.

• Work directly with all members of the Quality Management team to collaborate on audits.
