REQUIRED EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or equivalent.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1–3 years of experience in greenhouse operations, horticulture, plant propagation, nursery operations, agriculture, or a related hands-on environment.

• Interest in greenhouse operations, plant propagation, irrigation, and agricultural research.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

• Strong organizational, observational, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with a team.

• Basic math and Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.

• Ability and willingness to complete Ag Worker and Pesticide Handler training.

• Ability to work safely in greenhouse, outdoor field, and laboratory environments.

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, and lift materials for extended periods and work in hot, humid, or otherwise physically demanding conditions.

• Ability to work independently on occasional weekends and holidays.



SUMMARY

Seeking a hands-on Greenhouse Technician to support greenhouse operations, plant propagation, irrigation, equipment maintenance, and agricultural research activities. This role is ideal for someone with experience in greenhouse operations, horticulture, nursery work, plant propagation, or a similar hands-on agricultural environment.



RESPONSIBILITIES

• Learn and operate greenhouse environmental control systems, including irrigation programming and alarm monitoring.

• Support plant propagation activities by preparing pots and trays using automated and manual pot-filling equipment.

• Prepare custom soil and growing-media mixes using cement mixers and other equipment.

• Install, inspect, maintain, and remove irrigation systems and emitters.

• Support greenhouse research projects with experiment setup, takedown, plant material handling, and data-collection activities.

• Perform routine greenhouse maintenance, including cleaning floors, organizing supplies, checking hoses and nozzles, and cleaning evaporative cooling components.

• Conduct functionality checks and basic troubleshooting of greenhouse chambers, equipment, light racks, bulbs, and waste systems.

• Help create and maintain greenhouse operating procedures and protocols.

• Transport plant materials, supplies, and equipment between sites using a work truck.

• Communicate updates, changes, equipment issues, and project concerns promptly with the team.

• Follow sanitation practices, SOPs, safety requirements, and company policies.

• Participate in team and project meetings.
