Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required

• 2–3 years of material handling experience preferred

• Experience operating stand-up forklifts preferred



Qualifications

• Forklift certification required (manual and/or automatic equipment)

• Must pass Lift Driver’s Test

• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment

• Ability to read and interpret operational documents and procedures

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions



Job Overview

The Warehouse Spore Placer is responsible for handling incoming materials, verifying inventory accuracy, preparing sterilization loads, and maintaining warehouse operations. This role requires working in a fast-paced environment and supporting operations across both Madison and Covington plants as needed.



Key Responsibilities

• Unload inbound trucks and verify quantities and product details

• Stack boxes according to specified pallet patterns

• Operate forklifts to move and store pallets in racks

• Accept materials from divisions/departments for ethylene oxide sterilization

• Verify catalog numbers, lot numbers, quantities, and expiration dates

• Complete JD Edwards transactions using IBM Data Collection scanners

• Assemble sterilization loads based on palletization diagrams

• Place Biological Indicators (BI spores) into sterilization loads

• Initiate and maintain sterilization load documentation

• Store materials in pallet/BIN locations

• Operate inventory control systems

• Maintain a clean and compliant work area per Quality System Regulations

• Support buying and selling processes

• Perform additional duties as required



Essential Duties

• Follow safe lifting techniques (bending, lifting, turning)

• Work efficiently in warehouse and sterilization environments

• Maintain compliance with operational procedures

• Ability to perform basic calculations related to operations

• Strong problem-solving and logical thinking skills

• Ability to evaluate and resolve daily operational issues



Physical Requirements

• Frequent use of hands for handling materials

• Occasional standing, reaching, and lifting up to 30 lbs

• Ability to move within the facility and coordinate with teams

• Must be physically capable of lifting, bending, pulling, and prolonged standing

• Requires close vision



Work Environment

• Exposure to:

o Hot and humid conditions

o Moving mechanical parts

o Elevated work areas

o Electrical risks

o Toxic or caustic chemicals

o Explosive gases

o Loud noise (machinery, forklifts, construction)

• Must be flexible to work off-hours when required

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
