Job Description
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Skills for the Underwriter:
• Senior Underwriter experience: 3 + years of Property and Casualty Carrier underwriting experience is required
• Executive Underwriter experience: 5 + years of P&C Middle Market Broker-facing Carrier Underwriting experience required.
• Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with all internal and external business partners
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• An ability to think analytically about business problems, make recommendations and propose solutions
• High energy self-starter, who is resilient and has an entrepreneurial spirit
• Demonstration of solid time, organizational, and desk management skills
• Goal-oriented and delivers outcomes
• Ability to challenge the status quo and compete to win
• Superior technical knowledge and sound decision-making and analytical skills
• Position title and tier will be determined upon careful review of selected candidate's qualifications

Underwriter Responsibilities:
• Review Referred endorsements to determine acceptability and adherence to published guidelines and within the individual’s authority statement
• Consults with agents to answer questions regarding coverage and endorsement inquiries
• Ability to route endorsement request or activities to the appropriate staff or department
• Build relationships internally with both Center & Regional Office Underwriters and Agency partners
• Provides excellent customer service and operational excellence
• Ensure consistent delivery of responsive communication with our agency partners
• Capability to identify Cross-Sell and Up-sell opportunities
• Source opportunities for our internal partners
• Plan and prioritize work activities to achieve desired results within necessary time frames.
• Effectively use on-line resources, automation tools, and computer software packages.
