Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in a Surety Underwriting Assistant role or within the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry
• Experience supporting surety underwriting transactions
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat
• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint

Surety Underwriting Assistant Overview:
• The Surety Underwriting Assistant provides administrative and underwriting support within a National Bond Center environment
• This role supports underwriting operations through a combination of customer service, data entry, document processing, and transaction management activities
• The position serves as a key point of contact for agents, clients, underwriters, and internal stakeholders, assisting with bond transactions, endorsements, agency updates, and underwriting support functions
• The role involves a significant amount of clerical and administrative work, including entering bond information into internal systems, preparing and processing documents, maintaining electronic records, and supporting underwriting teams
• The Surety Underwriting Assistant is expected to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, respond to inquiries, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and a commitment to accuracy
• Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams while maintaining a high level of professionalism and service

Job Duties:
• Support agents with inquiries related to the online Surety Agency portal
• Process surety business transactions through bond and data entry systems
• Prepare and execute new bonds, riders, renewals, cancellations, endorsements, and reinstatements
• Enter rates, codes, and underwriting information into internal systems
• Communicate with underwriters, internal staff, agents, clients, attorneys, territory managers, and IT personnel
• Prepare, review, and verify documents for accuracy prior to processing
• Maintain electronic files and documentation
• Assist with billing, premium, and commission discrepancies
• Provide administrative and clerical support
• Perform data entry and form completion
• Support process improvement initiatives
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide follow-up support
• Participate in special projects and additional assignments as needed
