Job Description
Required Skills: Design (wireframing, comps, prototypes and coded experience), UI Development; prototyping and frontend coded UI

The Experience Design and Research team is hiring a UX Developer/AI Designer Hybrid (UX Creative Technologist / AI Design Engineer)—a hybrid, design-led technologist who bridges creative vision and technical execution to accelerate learning. This is a prototype-only role: you will build high-fidelity, code-based prototypes to validate ideas, de-risk complexity, and help teams align early. You’ll operate at the intersection of XD, design systems, and AI-enabled workflows—using Claude, Figma, and front-end prototyping skills (within our React and Angular ecosystem) to compress the cycle from concept to interactive proof.

You’re not only a user of AI tools; you help establish repeatable, responsible workflows that make the team faster and more consistent—while maintaining strong human judgment, accessibility, and quality standards. You will be at the forefront of XD transitioning to new AI/Agentic tools and design and workflows.

Responsibilities:

1) Accelerated, code-based prototyping (prototype-only delivery)

• Build interactive, high-fidelity prototypes (not production features) to explore and validate workflows, information architecture, and interaction patterns—especially for data-heavy and high-stakes experiences.

• Prototype using modern front-end practices aligned to our environment, including React and Angular, leveraging existing components where available.

• Communicate prototype intent and limitations clearly (what’s “real,” what’s simulated, and what’s being tested).

2) Design-to-code translation and collaboration

• Partner closely with product designers in Figma to translate designs, patterns, and interaction details into working prototypes with strong fidelity to the UX vision.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and research partners to define what needs to be tested, what can be learned quickly, and what decisions the prototype is intended to enable.

• Serve as a practical translator—bringing technical constraints into design conversations and bringing design intent into technical conversations.

3) Design system enablement + tokenization

• Contribute to design system scalability by helping define and maintain design tokens (naming conventions, semantic structure, modes/themes) that support consistent UI behaviors and theming across experiences.

• Use the design system as a foundation for prototyping and ensure patterns are represented accurately and consistently.

• Work with Storybook as a key reference point for component behavior, usage guidance, and constraints while prototyping.

4) AI-enabled workflows (Claude) with human review

• Use Claude (and other LM-approved AI tools) to accelerate concept-to-code workflows including ideation, prototype scaffolding, refactoring, documentation drafting, and token-related transformations—applying rigorous human review and enterprise-safe practices.

• Build and maintain reusable AI workflows that help the team repeat successful outcomes (e.g., prompt recipes, structured prompt chains, prototype scaffolds).

5) Documentation, instructional content, and “skill files”

• Produce and maintain Markdown documentation that supports adoption of patterns and workflows (component usage guidance, prototyping standards, token guidance, and internal how-tos).

• Create and maintain “skill files” that document reusable LLM workflows (prompt recipes, step-by-step instructions, quality checks, and expected outputs) so others can reliably reproduce results.

You could be a great fit for this role if you are…

• A design-led builder: You care about craft and clarity, and you’re most effective when you can make ideas tangible through interactive prototypes.

• A master of translation: You turn Figma designs and ambiguous requirements into working, testable prototypes without losing the UX intent.

• An AI workflow practitioner: You use Claude thoughtfully to accelerate work, but you don’t outsource judgment—you validate outputs and raise quality.

• A systems thinker: You see patterns, reduce inconsistency, and help teams scale through tokens, documentation, and repeatable workflows.

• A collaborative partner: You thrive in cross-functional environments and can facilitate alignment among design, engineering, research, and product.

Qualifications (Must have)

• 3+ years of experience in a hybrid role such as Creative Technologist, UX Engineer, Design Technologist, Prototyper, or Front-End UX Developer, with a strong focus on prototyping and UX collaboration.

• Proven ability to build coded prototypes using modern front-end approaches within React and/or Angular environments.

• Strong proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS/SCSS, and building accessible UI patterns.

• Strong proficiency in Figma (FigmaMake, FigmaAI etc), with demonstrated experience translating designs into prototypes in close partnership with product designers.

• Experience working with a design system and using Storybook to understand and apply component behavior and usage guidance.

• Demonstrated experience tokenizing design systems (token structure, semantic naming, themes/modes) and collaborating to keep tokens usable across design and code.

• Demonstrated experience creating Markdown documentation, instructional guides, and repeatable workflow assets (including “skill files” / prompt recipes).

• Hands-on experience using Claude as part of design and development workflows (ideation, scaffolding, refactoring, documentation drafting), with clear human review practices.

• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to present work and drive alignment with stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience prototyping complex enterprise or data-heavy workflows (tables, filtering, permissions, auditability, complex forms).

• Familiarity with usability testing practices and designing prototypes specifically for research and concept validation.

• Experience contributing to design system governance (pattern proposals, adoption guidance, documentation standards).

• Comfort navigating ambiguity, rapidly iterating, and setting practical guardrails for prototype scope.
  • **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**

  • **Please note that all Position start dates and duration are estimates and may be reduced or lengthened based upon a client’s business needs and requirements.**
