Job Description
***Only qualified Technical Architect candidates located near Plano, TX, to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence. ***
Required Skills, Experience, & Abilities:
1. Architecture & System Design
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing architectures
• Design using modern patterns (microservices, event-driven, CQRS, SOA) with proper tradeoff decisions
• Lead API design (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) with versioning and contract consistency
• Strong domain modeling (bounded contexts, aggregates)
• Design integrations (messaging, pub/sub, streaming, workflows)
• Own non-functional aspects (scalability, resiliency, observability, maintainability)
2. Technical Fundamentals
• Strong data architecture (RDBMS, NoSQL, time-series)
• Expertise in distributed systems (retries, circuit breakers, timeouts, consistency models)
• Cloud & infrastructure knowledge (AWS/Azure, containers, IaC, networking, load balancing)
• Security fundamentals (OAuth2/OIDC, encryption, secrets management)
• Performance engineering (profiling, capacity planning, SLO-driven tuning)
3. Delivery & Engineering Excellence
• CI/CD strategy (pipelines, blue-green, canary deployments)
• Test strategy (unit, integration, contract, E2E)
• Observability (logs, metrics, traces, dashboards)
• Reliability practices (SLO/SLI, error budgets, chaos engineering)
4. Leadership & Influence
• Drive architecture decisions using ADRs and tradeoff analysis
• Strong communication with technical and business stakeholders
• Cross-team alignment and governance
• Mentorship and technical leadership
• Lead migrations, risk assessment, and POCs
5. Documentation & Visualization
• Create architecture diagrams (C4, sequence, data flow)
• Write clear architecture documentation (decisions, tradeoffs, constraints)
• Develop runbooks for operations and incident handling
6. Additional: Technology Awareness
• API gateways, service mesh
• Messaging & caching (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis)
• Identity & OIDC integration
