Job Description
Required Education
• Degree: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field
• Years of Experience: 5–7 years (internships do not count toward experience requirement)
• Certifications (Desired): Knowledge and application of APQP and PPAP
Required Skills
• Project Management – Ability to manage timelines, RFQs, supplier follow-ups, and coordinate across engineering and procurement functions
• Data Analysis & Technical Proficiency – Ability to analyze supplier data, interpret engineering drawings, and work with 3D CAD models
• Purchasing Function Experience – Demonstrated experience working within a purchasing or procurement function in a manufacturing environment
Additional Technical Skills
• Required: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
• Required: Knowledge and application of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
• Required: Knowledge and application of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)

Job Responsibilities
• Serve as a Product Procurement Engineer supporting the Dynamic Energy Transfer program
• Focus on Electrical and Hydraulics categories
• Act as the bridge between engineering and suppliers to ensure parts are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet quality standards
• Support engineering and suppliers to design the most manufacturable parts
• Manage RFQs (Request for Quotations) and follow up with suppliers
• Conduct supplier visits (domestic travel 0–25%)
• Study time, motion, methods, and speed to establish standard production rates and improve efficiency
• Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, formulas, and 3D CAD models
• Confer with management and engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards
• Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets to verify adherence to quality assurance specifications
• Aid in planning work assignments based on worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays
• Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization
• Observe workers using equipment to verify proper operation and maintenance according to quality standards
• Observe workers performing tasks to determine time involved and fatigue rate using timing devices
• Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards
• Participate in email correspondence, virtual meetings, and in-person meetings with engineering teams and suppliers
• Follow up with suppliers on outstanding RFQs
• Travel domestically for supplier site visits as needed
• Receive training, mentoring, and coaching from the team upon hire
Team & Work Environment
• Team Structure: 4 Product Procurement Engineers in similar roles, plus 1 Supplier Development Engineer
• Schedule: 1st Shift, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
• Environment: Office setting with occasional supplier visits
