Job Description
Preferred Certification:
• Cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or related certifications.

Minimum Requirements:
(Candidates must meet all minimum requirements including education to be considered)
• 7+ years of experience with enterprise IT infrastructure, operating systems, computer hardware, software platforms, and application technologies.
• 7+ years of experience architecting and implementing cloud solutions within AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or GCP environments.
• 7+ years of experience with cloud service delivery models including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).
• 7+ years of experience designing cloud-based network architectures and connectivity solutions.
• 7+ years of experience utilizing Agile/Scrum methodologies and participating in Scrum ceremonies.
• 7+ years of experience implementing cloud automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
• 7+ years of experience with DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and release automation practices.
• 7+ years of experience deploying and supporting Kubernetes, containerized applications, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
• 7+ years of experience supporting Kubernetes clusters, serverless services, and cloud infrastructure APIs.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience using Ansible, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.

• 7+ years of experience implementing cloud security, governance, compliance, and data protection controls.
• 7+ years of experience serving as a technology architect for software development, analytics, data warehousing, or enterprise platform initiatives.
• 7+ years of experience performing systems analysis, requirements assessment, solution evaluation, and technology planning.
• 7+ years of experience creating technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and presentations using Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and related tools.
• 7+ years of demonstrated experience leading technical teams, managing multiple initiatives, and delivering projects on time.
• Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and support multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

• 8+ years of experience implementing DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes platforms, and containerized environments.
• 8+ years of experience developing Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, Docker, Ansible, YAML, JSON, HCL, and related technologies.
• 8+ years of experience architecting, engineering, or developing enterprise cloud and hybrid IT solutions.
• 8+ years of experience with cloud databases, data lakes, ETL/ELT frameworks, and structured/unstructured data platforms.
• 5+ years of experience implementing or supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cloud-based AI services from major cloud providers.
• 5+ years of experience designing and supporting data pipelines, ETL processes, and big data frameworks.
• Experience supporting healthcare, government, or highly regulated environments.
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and technology governance practices.

Summary:
• The Cloud Solutions Architect 2 is a senior-level technology leader responsible for designing, architecting, and implementing cloud-based infrastructure and modernization solutions that support enterprise-wide business and technology initiatives.
• This role focuses on cloud transformation, data center modernization, hybrid cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, security, compliance, and operational excellence.
• The architect collaborates closely with executive leadership, enterprise architects, application teams, project managers, and business stakeholders to develop scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions across public, private, and hybrid environments.
• The successful candidate will lead complex cloud initiatives, define architectural standards, implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), support DevOps practices, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

Cloud Architecture & Strategy
• Lead cloud modernization and transformation initiatives supporting enterprise technology objectives.
• Develop enterprise cloud architectures, technical roadmaps, architectural blueprints, and reference designs.
• Design scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and provide strategic recommendations for adoption.
• Align cloud architecture decisions with business requirements, enterprise standards, and organizational goals.
Infrastructure Engineering & Automation
• Design, implement, and manage public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates, Ansible, and related technologies.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.
• Develop cloud network architectures, connectivity models, and security frameworks.
• Support migration of applications and services from on-premises data centers to cloud environments.
DevOps & Platform Engineering
• Lead implementation of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and support containerized platforms and microservices architectures.
• Architect, deploy, scale, and maintain Kubernetes environments.
• Support serverless infrastructure and cloud-native application architectures.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize deployment workflows and cloud platform utilization.
Security, Compliance & Governance
• Establish cloud security standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
• Implement identity and access management controls and cloud security best practices.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, organizational security standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Design solutions that incorporate logging, auditing, monitoring, and operational visibility.
• Evaluate risks and develop mitigation strategies for cloud-based platforms.
Leadership & Collaboration
• Lead cross-functional teams and cloud engineering initiatives.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers, architects, and project teams.
• Facilitate architectural reviews and solution design discussions.
• Coordinate cloud efforts across agencies, business units, vendors, and technology teams.
• Develop standards, procedures, and best practices for cloud operations and service delivery.
Operational Excellence
• Monitor cloud platform performance, reliability, and operational effectiveness.
• Analyze complex technology challenges and develop practical solutions.
• Lead system implementation activities including planning, testing, deployment, and support.
• Produce architecture diagrams, technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
• Support training and knowledge transfer activities for technical and business teams.
