Job Description
Required Education:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).



Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• Minimum 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.

• Strong experience developing applications using C++.

• Experience with the Qt framework.

• Experience developing software in a Linux environment.

• Proficiency with Python scripting and automation.

• Experience with SQL and SQLite databases.

• Experience designing and managing data architecture, including data models, schemas, formats, and databases.

• Experience with Git or other version control systems.

• Familiarity with CI/CD development practices.

• Experience writing and maintaining unit tests.

• Familiarity with JSON or other data serialization/interchange formats.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.



Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• Experience working with 3D geometry.

• Experience with CAD modeling.

• Experience with mesh processing.

• Experience with integrated development environments (IDEs) and build systems.

• Experience developing software for robotics, medical devices, or regulated environments.



Senior Engineer – Software (C++/Qt/Linux) Overview:

The Senior Engineer develops foundational software components for Stryker's Robotics and Enabling Technology applications. This role is responsible for researching, designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining reusable software components that support pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative clinical application architectures. The position is an individual contributor role requiring professional judgment, technical expertise, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.



Job Duties:

• Develop and maintain shared data management software components for clinical applications.

• Design, implement, test, and support software features using C++, Qt, and Linux.

• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including design, implementation, testing, documentation, and maintenance.

• Perform code reviews, integration, defect analysis, debugging, and issue resolution.

• Ensure software components meet functional requirements and design specifications.

• Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and database structures.

• Utilize Python for scripting and automation tasks.

• Work with SQL and SQLite databases.

• Follow revision control and CI/CD development practices.

• Create and execute unit tests to ensure software quality and reliability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate shared software components.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of software architecture and development processes.
