Duration: 3 years
Location: Boston, MA. This role is critical to the success of a major system consolidation, merging 3 systems into one platform. As such, the product manager will be required to be in-person in Boston for most of the working period, with remote work available.

Job Description:
Position Summary:
Client''s highest priority initiative is to implement a Salesforce instance that supports the key business functions described above. To make this technology implementation successful, the team is interested in hiring a Product Manager with Salesforce experience who will be responsible for managing the technology implementation, coordinating between business, technical, and vendor stakeholders, and ultimately for ensuring that Salesforce instance meets business needs through all phases of development and maintenance.
As a Product Manager, you’ll coordinate with business and technology stakeholders to deliver a user-centered product using agile methodologies and modern software development practices while building capacity for product innovation in government. The Product Manager will analyze the tradeoffs with respect to business goals of different possible solutions and make recommendations to leadership about how to proceed. The Product Manager will work closely with business and technical leads to ensure alignment across stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should have experience managing software products and/or leading product development, a demonstrated ability to collaborate, and drive progress. Preferably, this individual will also have experience managing and/or configuring applications in Salesforce.


Work with leadership to define goals for agency operations and communicate these goals to technology vendors
Develop and manage the short and long-term product roadmap that aligns with the above goals. This includes creating the product vision, lean canvas, and writing and prioritizing epics and user stories
Manage the overall product management milestones and artifacts, including prioritizing backlog, triaging and expediting features and functions while communicating this to the development teams and tracking progress in Jira and other tracking mechanisms.
Ensure successful implementation by prioritizing functionality and feature development, e.g., leading research projects to document and prioritize policy and business needs through a variety of techniques (e.g., analysis of operational data and user interviews) and in coordination with the implementing team/vendor(s)
Set a vision for how the Salesforce instance will meet needs now and into the future, keeping abreast of future Salesforce technologies and services that will enable future enhancements to the digital offerings.
Define a strategy to achieve the vision for how technology will be used to support and enable business needs as they change over time, ensuring business needs and technology resources are in alignment.
Become the expert on software application to drive decision-making, ensuring that all stakeholders are aware of the capabilities and limitations of the software, and options, risks, and costs related to technology changes,
Manage vendor relationships including coordinating with technology vendor(s) to define requirements and use cases that will inform feature development, ongoing enhancements, and break/fix work.
Ensure that use cases, business requirements, and policy demos articulate and/or represent business processes and desired outcomes.
Support administrative and end users in using the software.
Basic Qualifications

A successful candidate will have:

Bachelor''s degree
5+ years of professional experience
Demonstrated success in a role with similar responsibilities, for example in IT, in the private sector, or public policy/government (preferred)
Additional Qualifications

Experience managing a software product including end-to-end product development and leading a team.
Experience with managing an application or product in a Salesforce environment or Salesforce administration.
Proven ability in both waterfall and agile product management and technology delivery methods. Understanding of agile milestones and ability to facilitate all aspects of the agile and/or waterfall methods of product management.
Ability to track all deliverables and accountabilities within Jira and other tracking tools.
Strategic thinker, adept at independently surfacing and evaluating problems accurately, even with incomplete information. Can drive progress on resolution with minimal oversight, displaying sound judgment, including measurement of risks and timely escalation.
Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders, senior managers, front-line leaders and employees at all levels.
Ability to generate very strong product plans and build buy-in across the team, our government partners, and other contractors.
Ability to define a product objective, and logically reverse engineer the path and communications to achieve the objective.
Experience leading discussions to ascertain the needs of a business or agency and its users, and ability to capture and communicate integrated business and technology requirements using non-technical language.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical, user experience, and project management trade-offs.
Experience with contract management and vendor interaction in delivering large-scale products or web services.
