Job Description
Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience
• 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in security operations, including incident response, incident management, digital forensics, threat intelligence, threat hunting, and detection engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python or other scripting languages.
• Experience with SQL and Pandas for data analytics and investigations.
• Experience automating security detection and response workflows.
• Strong understanding of security investigations and incident lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of the Cyber Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks.
• Ability to lead complex incident response situations through influence.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress and time-sensitive environments.
Preferred Skills
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services services including EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
• Experience in proactive threat hunting across corporate and production environments.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams such as legal, privacy, and engineering.
• Experience identifying logging gaps and improving detection visibility.
Role Overview
The Threat Detection and Response team is responsible for identifying, investigating, and responding to internal and external security threats. This role focuses on building scalable detection and response capabilities through automation, threat hunting, and incident management. The position requires collaboration across engineering and business teams to improve security posture and eliminate recurring threat vectors. The role also involves mentoring team members and enhancing incident response processes.
Duties
• Investigate security incidents using digital forensics and data analytics techniques.
• Hunt for threats and identify anomalous activity in corporate and production environments.
• Develop and maintain detection models and automation for threat identification and response.
• Respond to and mitigate security incidents at scale.
• Partner with engineering teams to design and implement advanced detection solutions.
• Identify infrastructure visibility gaps and improve logging and detection capabilities.
• Conduct root cause analysis and drive remediation to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with legal, privacy, and engineering teams during investigations and incident response.
