Job Description
Required Education:
• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical sciences, bioengineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or related scientific discipline (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
Preferred Education:
• Master’s degree
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Practical experience using analytical methods such as RiboGreen, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), and Zeta potential measurement
• Prior experience with High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
• Experience and proficiency with other analytical techniques will be considered
• Proficiency at formulating buffers is required
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce consistent results and effectively communicate them to the team
• Ability to be a team player, multitask and work on multiple projects at once, and excel in a collaborative work environment
• Proficiency at MS Excel is required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Prior experience with advanced analytical software (Prism, JMP) is desirable
Summary:
Searching for an outstanding Scientist I to join the Gene Therapy team in San Diego, CA.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with new non-viral nucleic acid delivery tools for in vivo and ex vivo genome editing and gene therapy applications. This person will be engaged in the analysis of novel nanoparticle-based pharmaceuticals.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
• Work at the direction of Analytical scientists to quantitate lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) encapsulating nucleic acids
• Analyze raw materials for LNP formulations
• Establish relationships between physiochemical characteristics of experimental nanoparticle formulations and their efficacy and safety
• Maintain detailed records of analytical data
• Interface directly with other functional teams
• Share responsibility for basic lab management activities (supply ordering, instrument calibration, maintaining schedules) - **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**
