Required Skills:

• Working SQL skills and basic coding ability for data validation (supporting, not primary, skill set)

• Structured, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving; comfortable asking for help and guidance

• Growth mindset — eager to learn quickly, take feedback well, and take ownership of operational tasks

• Comfortable executing well-defined tasks on time in a fast-paced, contract capacity

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to Account Takeover fraud (ATO) and Australian Taxation Office (ATO) investigations (3-5+ years)

• Prior internship or entry-level experience in fraud/risk operations, security triage, or process/quality management (3-5+ years)

• Exposure to governance frameworks in a regulated industry (fintech, banking, payments) (3-5+ years)

About the Role

We're looking for a Fraud/Risk Ops Analyst contractor to join Client's Security, Risk & Fraud team with a focus on operations. This is a foundational role: you'll serve as the first line of defense on fraud/risk triage, drive process and governance improvements, and collaborate across teams to keep operations running smoothly — while building core analytical skills under guidance

Duties:

Operations & Triage (primary focus)

• Serve as first line of defence on fraud/risk issues — triaging and validating cases, confirming attribution, and escalating more complex cases to L2 analysts

• Recommend actions and process changes to address negative trends identified through data analysis

• Lead or support structured initiatives to improve systems and operational workflows, inspiring adoption of best practices

• Translate business/team requirements into analytical or governance frameworks

• Collaborate with other teams to recommend and coordinate solutions to investigative matters

• Identify roadblocks in day-to-day operations, communicate ambiguities or issues, and proactively seek solutions to keep work moving

• Deliver assigned operational tasks on time, communicating progress transparently and integrating smoothly with the team's ongoing efforts

Analytics Support (secondary)

• Support data pipeline work and dashboarding as needed to inform operational decisions

• Apply SQL and foundational statistical methods to validate data and interpret trends

Customer & Team Impact

• Build understanding of how operational work affects customers by interpreting feedback, support signals, and usage data

• Actively seek feedback, learn from mistakes, and support peers to build collaboration skills

  • **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**

  • **Please note that all Position start dates and duration are estimates and may be reduced or lengthened based upon a client’s business needs and requirements.**
