Job Description
Required Education:
• High School Diploma OR General Education Diploma (GED).
Work Schedule:
• 40 hours per week.
• 8 hours per day.
• Expected shift: 8 AM to 5 PM.
Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• Minimum two (2) years of previous experience in a healthcare setting.
• Minimum one (1) year of phone experience, including inbound and outbound calls and escalations.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.
• Experience using a 10 key touch pad.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to multitask.
• Demonstrated customer focus and ability to understand patient needs.
• Working knowledge of, or ability to understand, CPT 4 and ICD 9 coding principles.
Overview:
• This role supports referral processing operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• The position requires strong attention to detail, communication skills, and patient-focused service.
• The role is KP onsite and requires compliance with vaccination policies prior to start.
Job Summary:
• Performs a variety of clerical procedures to process outside medical referrals.
• Functions as a liaison between members, patients, and healthcare teams.
• Works independently while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with healthcare standards.
• Builds and sustains productive relationships with members and patients.
Job Responsibilities:
• Process and manage medical referrals accurately and efficiently.
• Act as a liaison to coordinate referral-related communication.
• Make members and patients the primary focus of all actions.
• Actively seek information to understand patient circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs.
• Build rapport and maintain cooperative relationships with patients.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and resolve issues as they arise.
• Ensure actions and decisions positively impact patient experience.
