Experience Desired: Quality inspection experience in medical device, aerospace, electronics, or manufacturing (3+ yrs); Experience reading engineering drawings, assembly prints, and inspection procedures (3+ yrs); Use of calipers, micrometers, height gauges, scales, and other precision measuring tools (3+ yrs); Experience with incoming, in-process, and final inspections using ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 sampling methods (0 yrs); Experience documenting inspection results and supporting quality investigations (3+ yrs); SAP, CMM, SmartScope, or GD&T (ASME Y14.5) experience preferred (0 yrs)

Job Description
Required Education:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Required Skills and Experience:
• 3+ years of quality experience or equivalent training
• Ability to read and comprehend basic assembly drawings, test procedures, and component drawings
• Ability to work independently under supervision of Team Lead and/ Supervisor
• Basic knowledge & understanding of sampling techniques (ANSI/ASQ Z1.4)
• Demonstrates the effective use of measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, scales, rules, height gauges
• Familiarity with personal computers and basic use of a Windows environment
• Reading, writing and math skills to include working with fractions and decimals, conversions between fractions and decimals and percentages

Preferred Skills and Experience:
• SAP User experience
• Smart Scope and/or CMM experience
• Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning tolerancing; ASME Y14.5 (GD&T)

Position Overview:
The Incoming Mechanical/Electrical Inspector II is responsible for performing incoming inspection of procured material, in-process audits and inspection, and final product inspection in conformance with drawings, Engineering Change Orders, workmanship standards and BD policies and procedures.
The Incoming Mechanical/Electrical Inspector II is responsible for effectively interacting with all levels of associates and all functional departments in the organization.

Responsibilities:
• Perform Inspections at Incoming/In-process for the Instrument Plant
• Plan and perform daily work duties, inspections, and tests under the direction of Supervisor/Group Leader
• Use decision-making skills and judgment to verify that quality standards are continuously maintained
• Effectively works in a team setting, supporting team goals and objectives
• Follow Client policies and procedures
