ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Scrum Master will operate as a Servant Leader and facilitator for 2-3 Agile teams, ensuring the effective implementation of Scrum and Kanban principles. The successful candidate will be a strong negotiator, have excellent logic and problem-solving skills and drive to make a difference. We need an individual that puts the team before themselves. They will be responsible for enforcing the rules of Scrum, removing impediments from their team, while promoting self-management and consistently driving a culture of continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Liaison & Communication
• Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical departments
• Communicate with other management, developers, product owners and technical support specialists on product issues
• Coach the team on best practices (maintaining a healthy backlog, develop high quality user stories, estimating and delivery)
Development
• Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meetings
• Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress
• Maintain process documentation
• Ensure the team members are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility
Application Support
• Assist as needed with backlog maintenance and reviewing quality of user stories
• Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
• Assist with prioritization and resolution of defects / bugs
Management
• Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team working agreement, standards, and tools
• Develop and manage Team performance metrics, leverage to drive efficiencies in the process
• Identify and remove impediments, prevents distractions
• Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution
• Empower the team to self-organize
Knowledge & Experience
• Scrum Master or Business Analyst experience is preferred
• Understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures
• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Understanding of organization’s development platform and languages
• Ability to understand technical issues
