Job Description
Description of Duties

• Perform high-level coordination and support of FMT process management duties.



Summary:

• Provide project support for FMT and related communication efforts: setting meetings, meeting notes and consolidation of info, coordination of teams.

• The opportunity involves guiding change management and continuous improvement activities in the Financial Management Division in the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH).

• As the project manager, the contractor supports high-level activities related to major agency-wide change efforts.

• The project manager will guide work groups, plan agendas, design engagement activities to gather input on options and recommendations, prepare communications, and guide participation in business process mapping sessions.

• The contractor will provide project support including setting meetings, taking meeting notes, consolidating information, managing participant lists, document storage and distribution, and coordinating teams. This role will provide expertise in the department that is critical to ensuring financial management practices meet the needs of all employees in alignment with the agency strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Project Management Principles and practices: In-depth knowledge of project management principles, practices, methodologies, and tools.

Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Continuous Improvement: In-depth knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologies, and of leading related efforts.

• Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear communication strategies and effectively convey complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Facilitation: Ability to facilitate groups and encourage participation.

•Familiarity with business process flow documentation and terminology.

• Information management principles and current information technology strategies and trends.

• Expert technology skills with Microsoft 365 products (especially outlook, Teams, word, excel) and Adobe Acrobat Professional.

Experience with SharePoint and process mapping software a plus.

• Ability to work independently using technical skills and tact, in a changing environment.

• Ability to use nuanced approaches and relationship building skills on a high profile project.

• Ability to conceptualize alternative solutions to complex issues.

•Finance Management Expertise: In depth knowledge of Finance Management terminology, processes, and practices a plus.
