Job Description
Required Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Management, Health Administration, Business Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Required License/Certification:
• Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification
Required Skills:
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing complex project procurements and implementations
• 5 years of experience working with business stakeholders in a cross-functional matrix environment
• 5 years of experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements
• 2 years of experience working with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies
• 5 years of experience using Agile project management methodologies
• 3 years of experience creating and managing Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM) across the project lifecycle
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Microsoft Project
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and issues
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with project artifact curation and collaboration using shared tools
• Experience using Jama, Jira, Confluence, Steelray, SmartSheets, or similar tools
• Experience presenting to executive stakeholders or senior leadership
• Knowledge of Medicaid, managed care, MMIS, health claims processing, population health management, or related systems
• Experience supporting large-scale, multi-stakeholder public sector initiatives
• Familiarity with process automation and administrative simplification initiatives
Project Manager Overview:
The Project Manager will support a large-scale procurement and implementation initiative focused on care management organizations for a statewide health program. This role contributes to one of the most significant modernization efforts within a public health environment, impacting millions of individuals. The Project Manager will support enterprise transformation initiatives by coordinating project activities, managing deliverables, monitoring risks, and ensuring alignment across technical, operational, and business stakeholders. Working under a Senior Project Manager, this role requires strong project management fundamentals, effective communication, and the ability to manage complex interdependencies across multiple initiatives while supporting modernization of legacy systems into integrated, modular platforms.
Job Duties:
• Support assigned project management activities under senior leadership direction
• Manage day-to-day project tasks to ensure alignment with strategic objectives
• Prepare and maintain project plans, schedules, roadmaps, and estimates
• Track project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues
• Provide regular status reporting to leadership and stakeholders
• Coordinate across technology, operations, and business teams
• Support vendor selection and proposal evaluation activities
• Assist with documentation including requirements, reports, presentations, and statements of work
• Monitor scope changes and support quality control activities
• Ensure projects progress according to schedule, budget, and quality standards
• Support risk management and issue resolution efforts
