Job Description
Required Education:
• High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education:
• 2 years of college preferred
Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• 4 years of healthcare experience
• CPT and ICD 9/10 coding knowledge required
• Medical terminology knowledge required
• Experience with Micro Suites required
• Strong communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and adapt to frequent change
• Reliable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in medical office, billing, claims, or similar healthcare setting preferred
• EPIC or Health Connect experience preferred
Overview:
• Onsite position in GA Atlanta
• Seasonal Influenza Vaccination or Declination required from Nov 1 to Apr 30
• Business casual dress code
• Parking available, must avoid reserved spaces and register vehicle
• Position requires weekend work

Job Summary:
• The Referral Coordinator supports referral and authorization processing by handling inbound calls, initiating referrals, and researching authorization requests while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
Job Responsibilities:
• Handle inbound phone queue
• Initiate referrals and authorizations
• Research authorization requests
• Review requests for outside medical care
• Verify eligibility, coverage, and benefits
• Confirm provider status
• Maintain compliance timeframes
• Perform data entry and documentation
• Communicate with patients and providers regarding referral status
