Job Description
Required Education:
• Associate's degree in business, Engineering, Finance, Project Management, Accounting, Economics, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Marketing or other related degree with three (3) years minimum of related work experience
• High school diploma/GED and five (5) years minimum of related work experience
Preferred education:
• B.S. degree in a related technical field
Preferred Certification:
• Certification by the Project Management Institute or AACE International is desirable as evidence of proficiency; or willingness to pursue certifications within one year of employment if not already certified
Required experience:
• Should possess an experience in a progressively more difficult project control functional environment (8 Years)
Job Overview:
Mid-level PCS position. No supervision or supervisory experience required. Certification not required. No rotating shifts, no on-call, overtime not anticipated.
Job Responsibilities:
• Perform as a PCS with accountability and responsibility for project work breakdown structures which include project planning, status, variances, indicator/commitment tracking, and control changes for projects or programs
• Assist in the annual and project life cycle planning process for trend analysis, cost/schedule forecasts, cash flows, budget adjustments and project prioritization
• Support preparation of summary & detail level reports, trend analyses required to keep organization programs, project managers and department managers aware of the impacts of forecasted or actual changes to their budgets, spend plans, and schedules
• In a principal role, direct the Project Control Specialists (PCS) scheduler, cost estimators or general by effectively planning resources levelling to accomplish work, monitoring work activities, and assuring the technical, quality adherence and adequacy of total project portfolio success
• Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of project scheduling, project planning, project cost and project risk principles and practices to develop solutions to reduce or impact total project success
• Operate as a technical expert in project portfolio day-to-day activities for project adherence and implementation
• Utilize troubleshooting methods and creative decision-making techniques processes to meet project portfolio performance unique criteria
• Develop and maintain standardized project processes, provide training, coaching and mentoring for consistent project controls adherence in meeting projects planned objectives and performance indicators
• Ensure direct reports continue to receive appropriate continuing education
• Monitor and coach Project Control Specialists to enhance performance and develop technical skills and clear progression planning
• Assist personnel in resolution of schedule, cost, project planning and joint project team integrity
• Perform activities assigned outside the PCS role in conjunction with innovation and creative approach to work through daily activities achieving excellence in leadership traits and qualities for mastering the project portfolio execution process
• Willingness to accept challenging assignments with progression leading to project management roles and responsibilities
• Must be expert in project control dynamics (scheduling, forecasting, budgeting, planning, estimating, cost analysis, work management, E and PC software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pivot Tables etc.)) practices, processes, methods and procedures
• Must be able and willing to assume on-call rotational assignments which may include 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week availability
• Must be willing and medically able to work rotating shifts and maximum overtime permitted by management, procedures during peak periods - **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**
