Required Education

• High School Diploma



Required Experience

• 1+ year of experience reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, plans, maps, and/or designs.

• Experience working with construction timelines, construction personnel, and clients.

• Experience monitoring and updating permit statuses, approvals, and expiration dates.



Preferred Experience

• Experience coordinating with local government agencies, municipalities, or other external stakeholders.

• Experience supporting public right-of-way (ROW) permitting activities.



Required Skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and SharePoint proficiency

• Ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships

• Ability to coordinate multiple permitting activities and track required updates.



Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with construction permitting processes

• Ability to communicate effectively with Cities, Counties, Caltrans, and other regulatory agencies

• Ability to support permit negotiations and approval requirements



Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Cities, Counties, Caltrans, and local agencies to obtain construction permits for work within the public right-of-way (ROW).

• Secure permits supporting the installation, maintenance, and operation of utility facilities.

• Coordinate with internal departments, government agencies, municipalities, and external stakeholders throughout the permitting process.

• Ensure permitting activities meet applicable approval and compliance requirements.

• Track permit statuses, approvals, and expiration dates to support timely project execution.

• Help negotiate permit conditions and facilitate approvals.

• Serve as a liaison between project teams and regulatory/permitting authorities.
