Job Description
Required Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in public health, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

Preferred Education:
• Master’s degree in health informatics, Public Health, Computer Science, or related discipline

Preferred Certification:
• HL7 FHIR-related certifications or training (e.g., HL7 FHIR proficiency, interoperability standards training)

Required Experience:
• Experience with HL7 FHIR interoperability projects
• Exposure to system integration, system interoperability, and electronic health record implementation

Preferred Experience:
• Experience with HL7 Helios FHIR Accelerator projects (e.g., query/response or aggregate data priority areas)
• Experience in electronic data interchange (EDI) infrastructure and architecture enhancement
• Public health reporting project experience
• Presentation and public speaking experience
• Emergency response support experience

Job Overview:
Client seeks a FHIR Interoperability Specialist to coordinate and support public health FHIR interoperability activities and related projects. This role is vital in promoting and advancing FHIR to improve interface.

Job Responsibilities:
• Contribute significantly to strategic FHIR-specific projects
• Build agency-level readiness and capacity to adopt public health FHIR solutions
• Develop a TDH FHIR roadmap
• Support HL7 FHIR interoperability projects, including HL7 Helios FHIR Accelerator focus areas
• Support TDH electronic data interchange (EDI) interoperability infrastructure and architecture enhancement activities aligned with data modernization efforts
• Gain exposure to interoperability standards (HL7) and contribute to system integration, interoperability, and public health reporting projects
• Participate in in-state and occasional out-of-state travel
• Deliver presentations and engage in public speaking opportunities
• Assist with emergency response situations when necessary
• Work in the US with opportunities for hybrid/remote arrangements
