Job Description
***Only qualified Programmer - Consultant- Project Lead candidates located near the Blythewood SC area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence***



Preferred Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology related discipline with 8 years of experience or minimum 10 years related experience



Preferred Certification:

• MS technical certifications will be factored in the selection process

• Microfocus certifications are a significant advantage



Required Skills:

• 8+ Years of Development with MICROFOCUS Visual COBOL in Windows Server 2019/2022 batch and under IIS

• 4+ Years’ Experience with Visual Studio 2019/2022 including the ability to use the debugger

• 4+ Years of Application programming against RDBMS (Oracle SQL)

• Bachelor’s degree in IT OR related discipline with 8 years of experience or minimum 10 years related experience without degree



Preferred Skills:

• Experience with MICROFOCUS COBOL Version 7 and higher

• Ability to write complex queries using SQL for Oracle and MS SQL DB

• IIS Configuration/Setup

• Skilled in C# and .NET

• Microsoft Certification

• Microfocus Certification



Job Responsibilities:

• The business application tier utilizes microfocus visual Cobol running under IIS on MS windows 2022 servers

• This assignment will support development of new business functions and troubleshooting modification and enhancement of existing functions in this environment within the existing CLIENT application framework

• Projects may include business logic supporting on-line systems batch programming data extraction and reports involving all CLIENT business areas

• This engineer will work closely and will be involved with both the UI tiers which are MS net applications (vb.net C# .net) and the database tiers in both SQL and oracle

• Production trouble shooting support will be expected so some level of production support experience is required

• This contractor will be expected to work with minimal supervision will be in direct contact with business area specialists develop technical approaches and designs code test and support these functions

• Communications skills must be excellent
