Job Description
Required Education:
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in health education, biology, or a related field

Required Experience:
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in public health, education, or a related field
• Able to complete and prioritize tasks while working remotely

Job Overview:
Client is seeking a highly motivated, qualified individual to fill a Public Health Program Director 1 contract position. The Public Health Program Director 1 position is housed within the Tobacco Use Prevention & Control Program. This contract position will work closely with program and evaluation staff to implement evidence-based strategies designed to address tobacco use and prevention among youth and young adults.

Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement evidence-based programs/initiatives to address tobacco prevention among youth and young adults.
• Assist and support schools with the implementation of tobacco prevention and cessation initiatives.
• Work with the tobacco team to plan and implement youth engagement trainings for tobacco prevention.
• Participate in regular trainings, workshops, conferences, and meetings related to tobacco prevention and control and the Client division.
• Develop and maintain cooperative, collaborative, working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve program goals and objectives.
• Updates and uses relevant knowledge to support the implementation of health education interventions and programs for the community.
• Identifies the educational needs of others, supports program staff in the development of educational training programs or classes, and teaches and instructs others.
• Assists with the design and delivery of relevant training programs for health department employees, teachers, and other professionals
• Prepares and distribute program materials to internal and external stakeholders that conduct tobacco prevention programs.
