Job Description
This is a senior-level Project Manager role responsible for managing large, complex utility projects end-to-end. This position involves full ownership of high-impact projects such as overhead/underground relocations, backbone installations, and Rule 15/16 projects. The PM acts as the main point of contact for customers and internal teams, driving projects through all phases of the lifecycle—from initiation to closure.

Core Responsibilities
Full Project Lifecycle Management
Manage projects from initiation through planning, scheduling, execution, and closure (IPSEC process).
Facilitate kickoff calls and meetings with customers and internal teams.
Coordinate design reviews, resolve technical questions, and ensure compliance with SCE standards.

Customer & Stakeholder Communication
Serve as the primary liaison for customers and utility consultants.
Maintain strong relationships across internal departments (design, engineering, civil operations).
Provide timely updates and respond to inquiries within 24 hours.

Technical & Administrative Tasks
Review project initiation documents and requirements.
Submit permits, easement requests, and manage contracts/invoices.
Track financial performance, forecast costs, and reconcile work orders.

Scheduling & Coordination
Schedule field meetings, inspections, and construction activities.
Remove roadblocks and mitigate risks to keep projects on track.

Reporting & Compliance
Monitor project health and ensure timely closure.
Generate and review reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Apply SCE policies, regulations, and standards throughout the project.

Key Skills & Attributes
Project Management Expertise: Ability to manage complex, multi-phase projects independently.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with electrical service planning/design and utility terminology.
Customer Service: Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate dynamic issues and create win-win solutions.
Organizational Skills: Manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.

Experience:
7+ years combined experience, including at least 5 years in project management and 2 years in electrical utility service planning/design.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization tools (Power BI).
Ability to interpret technical plans and communicate to non-technical audiences.
Role Complexity
Requires ownership of large-scale projects and coordination across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Involves field presence for meetings and inspections as needed.
