Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• Successful work experience in a credentialing role
• Ability to process and manage high-volume credentialing applications
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies or gaps in information
• Clear and professional communication skills with providers, staff, and clients
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of protected health information
Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• CAQH experience
• MD-Staff experience
• Google Suite proficiency
Credentialing Coordinator Overview:
The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all providers meet necessary requirements and are approved to participate in health plans. This role partners with Recruiting, Production, and Education teams while reporting to the Manager of Credentialing. Responsibilities include reviewing initial and reappointment credentialing applications, conducting primary source verifications, validating documentation, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and NCQA standards. The Credentialing Coordinator will resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate credentialing data, process high volumes of applications within strict timelines, and provide clear communication to internal and external stakeholders. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality of protected health information.
Job Duties:
• Review and screen initial and reappointment credentialing applications for completeness and accuracy
• Conduct primary source verification and validate documents against credentialing standards
• Identify and resolve discrepancies, time gaps, or irregularities in applications
• Escalate complex issues to Credentialing leadership for resolution
• Monitor credentialing files for compliance with accreditation standards and policies
• Enter, update, and maintain provider data in the credentialing database with accuracy
• Prepare, issue, and track verifications to support credentialing applications
• Communicate clearly with providers, internal staff, and clients regarding credentialing status
• Stay current with healthcare industry regulations through professional development opportunities
• Assist with special projects as needed
Specific Details to Call Attention To:
