Job Description
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• 7+ years experience with MS Access & SQL Server (T-SQL) development
• 7+ years experience creating Stored Procedures and Triggers for bi-directional sync between systems (RICS and JMT)
• 7+ years experience writing SQL queries for data cleanup and orphan data resolution
• 7+ years experience creating ETL processes between systems
• 5+ years experience resolving OnBase issues during legacy document transfers (RBDMS → OnBase with RICS taxonomy)
• 3+ years experience working in Agile/SCRUM software methodology
• Experience documenting all requirements in Azure DevOps (ADO)
• Ability to use Visio to document system sync processes
• Ability to act as Technical SME for enterprise-wide systems
• Experience analyzing functional/technical product impacts, enhancements, and design decisions
• Ability to support product implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and system documentation
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Experience acting as a Proxy Product Owner (creating features, user stories, acceptance criteria)
• Experience supporting product modernization or legacy system sunset planning
• Experience working with OnBase taxonomy management (document groups, document types)
• Strong communication skills for working with internal teams, vendors, and business stakeholders
• Experience participating in design reviews, functional validation, and user testing
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Product Specialist serves as the SME for enterprise-wide systems, ensuring availability, functionality, and performance for internal users. This role supports the modernization of the RICS system, resolves sync issues between RICS and RBDMS, defines the roadmap for retiring the legacy system, manages OnBase taxonomy, documents requirements, and collaborates with business leads, developers, and vendors to validate enhancements and ensure quality delivery.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Function as the Technical SME for an enterprise-wide system, providing expert guidance and support
• Lead and support the implementation of products and services across the organization
• Provide direct technical expertise for applications involving national security
• Recommend functional and technical improvements to enhance product performance and usability
• Analyze the impact of product planning decisions on system functionality and business operations
• Develop and enforce functional, usability, and quality standards for supported products
• Track, monitor, and document system usage, volume expectations, and performance metrics
• Participate in product design reviews to ensure compliance with functional and technical requirements
• Perform impact analysis for production fixes and enhancements, prioritizing appropriately
• Provide product support, troubleshooting, and detailed technical responses to user inquiries
• Deliver on-site support when required
• Accurately assess and assign severity levels for system issues or defects
• Provide input for training materials and documentation related to product changes
• Document all technical work for future reference and audit trails
• Review and validate system test approaches, conditions, and detailed test scenarios
• Evaluate, identify, and resolve sync issues between RICS and RBDMS system tables and fields
• Create a roadmap to sunset legacy RBDMS functionality used by DOGRM program areas
• Act as a Proxy Product Owner, defining features, user stories, and acceptance criteria in Azure DevOps
• Collaborate with business leads to test, validate, and approve enhancements developed for RICS
• Manage OnBase taxonomy, creating and submitting new document groups and types as required - **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**
