Job Description

Required Education:
• HS Diploma

Preferred Education:
• A Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, business or a related field and 2 or more years of experience or 4 years of experience.

Experience:
• 2+ years of experience in supply chain planning, logistics, or transportation
• Experience working with SAP for order management, planning, or transportation activities

Position Description:
This role is responsible for planning day to day Packaged Truck deliveries for the Salt business unit. The Planner I will help coordinate long-term supply chain strategies across networks to address capacity issues and production location decisions in support of business goals. In this role, you will monitor key integrated business planning performance indicators, cost-to-serve performance data, and help coordinate cross-functional work teams to meet high customer-service standards.

Responsibilities include:
• Carrier utilization and scheduling, cost and service reporting and communication with external and internal stakeholders.
• Works with Sales and Supply Chain groups to understand requirements and make best value delivery decisions to support Cargill’s customer requirements.
• Supports the sourcing strategy by tendering and managing orders in SAP with tiered carrier rankings.
• Responsible for day-to-day management of orders from an assigned set of plants and public warehouses.
• Includes building loads, monitoring of un routed orders, coordinating ship and delivery dates, handling customer add-ons and broken or changed loads and logging and approving carrier invoiced costs.
• Help generate and execute cycle stock and safety stock plans for the assigned product or location, using the approved supply plan inputs.
• Develop gap coverage plans during inventory shortages.
• Assist in setting inventory planning metrics targets.
• Create requirements plan and long-term supply plan for assigned product(s) and location(s) as input for the integrated business planning cycle.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
