Required Education:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent



Preferred Certification:

• Pharmacy Technician certification or Pharmacy Technician Trainee license



Required Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in a high-volume call center environment

• Healthcare, insurance, PBM, pharmacy, medical office, or similar experience preferred

• Strong customer service skills, both written and verbal

• Advanced computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet utilization

• Ability to navigate multiple systems while handling calls

• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and Outlook

• Strong data entry and documentation skills

• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume environment

• Ability to meet mandatory overtime requirements

• Ability to work from a private, HIPAA-compliant workspace

• Smartphone required for use of the PING application



Preferred Experience:

• At least 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician coordinating activities in an administrative support function

• Pharmacy Technician experience

• Experience in healthcare, insurance, PBM, pharmacy, medical office, or similar environments

• Prior Authorization experience

• Experience working in a high-volume inbound call center

• Experience navigating multiple systems while handling calls

• Experience documenting Prior Authorization approvals and denials



Position Summary:

• The Remote Pharmacy Technician-Prior Authorization Call Center provides professional telephone assistance to members, providers, and other callers through a criteria-based Prior Authorization process

• The representative handles incoming calls, gathers and documents required information, and maintains complete, timely, and accurate documentation of Prior Authorization approvals and denials

• Clinical questions and judgment calls are transferred to the pharmacist for appropriate review and decision-making

• The role requires strong customer service and communication skills, advanced computer proficiency, and the ability to navigate multiple systems while managing calls and documentation

• Candidates should be comfortable working in a high-volume environment, meeting productivity and quality expectations, and maintaining accurate records



Position Responsibilities:

• Take incoming calls from members, providers, and other callers

• Provide professional telephone assistance throughout the criteria-based Prior Authorization process

• Review and process Prior Authorization requests according to established criteria and procedures

• Maintain complete, timely, and accurate documentation of approvals and denials

• Transfer clinical questions and judgment calls to the pharmacist

• Coordinate activities related to Prior Authorization processing and administrative support

• Navigate multiple computer systems while handling calls

• Perform accurate data entry and documentation

• Utilize Microsoft Teams and Outlook as part of daily workflow

• Provide excellent customer service through verbal and written communication

• Maintain productivity and quality standards in a high-volume environment

• Follow applicable procedures and requirements for handling confidential healthcare information
