Job Description
Required Education:
• Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
Required Certifications/Licenses:
• AN ACTIVE TEXAS STATE BOARD OF PHARMACY LICENSE OR TRAINEE.
• Include Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration number on resume.
Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• Completion of Pharmacy Tech training program.
• 3 months Pharmacy Technician Experience.
• MUST KNOW HOW TO TYPE AND HAVE BASIC COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE.
Pharmacy Technician Overview:
• Adept at reading/interpreting prescription terminology and medications.
• Rapid keyboarding skills while maintaining 100% accuracy.
• Able to meet specified production and quality standards as defined by the management team.
• Able to recognize and identify commonly used generic drugs and the route of administration of these drugs.
• General knowledge of commonly used generic drugs.
• Able to understand and interpret Latin symbols commonly used on prescriptions medications and able write routine correspondence.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This includes the ability to calculate dosages and days-supply prescriptions.
• Must be flexible and enjoy working in a fast pace, team-oriented environment.
Job Duties:
• Must be able to resolve and enter incomplete prescriptions after clarification is obtained.
• Complete appropriate described patient letter.
• Assist/perform other pharmacy functions and duties as required.
