Job Description
Required Education:

- High school diploma or equivalent required

- Completion of 30 semester hours of college coursework may substitute for one year of the required pharmacy clerk experience.



Required Experience:

- Experience as a pharmacy clerk; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting 30 semester hours of college coursework for each year of required experience

- Experience assisting a licensed pharmacist with filling prescriptions and using pharmacy equipment (e.g., repackaging machines, heat sealers)

- Experience maintaining pharmaceutical inventory records and ensuring proper stock rotation, including checking incoming supplies for dates, dosage, and conformance with requisitions



Preferred Experience:

- Experience working with electronic health record (EHR) or electronic medical record (EMR) systems in a pharmacy or healthcare setting

- Familiarity with 340B drug pricing program requirements or other regulated pharmaceutical distribution/pricing compliance

- Experience in a state or government-run pharmacy, warehouse, or wholesale distribution environment



Job Summary:

Assist registered pharmacists in filling prescriptions and dispensing drugs in a state warehouse setting, supporting OSDH's role as a repackage and wholesale distributor of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to county health departments and mobile units across Oklahoma.



Job Duties:

- Assist pharmacist in filling prescriptions using repackaging machine and heat sealer

- Receive, maintain, and complete inventory reports for medical and pharmaceutical supplies

- Ensure medications are kept separated according to 340B requirements, funding source, and OSDH program area

- Assist pharmacist with ensuring accurate medication pricing is loaded in EHR

- Type labels and post information on appropriate records, including EMR/EHR systems

- Distribute filled and labeled prescriptions to County Health Departments

- Ensure drug supplies are used according to dates; remove outdated supplies from stock; assist with inventory maintenance and requisition of supplies; check incoming supplies for dates, dosage, and conformance with requisition

- Assist in monitoring the electronic temperature monitoring system to ensure product integrity

- Clean and maintain pharmaceutical equipment; prepare standard solutions

- Assist and support all pharmacy operations-related duties, including pharmacy phone and email monitoring

- Assist pharmacist with inventory management, electronic health records, and other projects

- Other duties as assigned
