Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• Prior relevant work experience of 1 year

• At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician coordinating activities in an administrative support function

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service position with high-volume call center experience, preferably in healthcare, social services, or a similar service position

• Sterile compounding experience

• Working knowledge of problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Advanced computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet utilization

• Excellent written and verbal customer service skills

Pharmacy Technician – Compounding Overview:

• The Pharmacy Technician – Compounding supports pharmacists in the preparation of compounded medications while helping maintain the sterility, integrity, accuracy, and safety of final products

• This role assists with measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients and follows comprehensive labeling procedures for compounded medications, including creams, ointments, and capsules

• The Pharmacy Technician documents measurements, calculations, procedures, batch records, deviations, and incidents associated with compounding activities

• The position works as part of a pharmaceutical team using compounding equipment and technology and assists with appropriate cleaning protocols and routine equipment maintenance to maintain a safe and hygienic environment

• The technician also evaluates final compounded products for appearance, consistency, contamination, and abnormalities

• Ongoing professional development through seminars, workshops, and training is expected to maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical compounding techniques and technology advancements

• The role also supports waste management within the compounding area by differentiating hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, and recyclables



Job Duties:

• Assist pharmacists with measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients to compound products while maintaining the sterility and integrity of the final product

• Follow comprehensive labeling procedures when working with compounded medications, creams, ointments, and capsules

• Document and accurately record steps taken, measurements, calculations, and any deviations or incidents occurring during the compounding process

• Communicate with technicians regarding appropriate cleaning protocols and assist with routine equipment maintenance

• Maintain a safe and hygienic compounding environment

• Compile documentation for compounding activities, including ingredients used, procedures followed, and batch records

• Operate within a pharmaceutical team utilizing compounding equipment and technology

• Measure and prepare products using scales, mixers, ointment mills, and homogenizers

• Observe final compounded products and check appearance and consistency for signs of contamination or abnormalities

• Attend seminars, workshops, and training programs to develop pharmaceutical knowledge and stay informed on compounding techniques and technology advancements

• Organize the waste management system for the compounding area and differentiate hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, and recyclables
