Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• Previous specialty pharmacy experience

• Experience in-home mail-order pharmacy

Pharmacist Overview:

• The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescriptions and coordinating clinical services for specialty medications serviced at the branch location

• This role works closely with healthcare professionals to ensure safe, accurate, and timely patient care. Responsibilities include translating prescriptions, reviewing patient medication profiles, evaluating drug interactions and sensitivities, and determining whether prescriptions require physician clarification or therapeutic intervention

• The Pharmacist communicates directly with patients and physicians via telephone or mail to address medication-related questions, prior authorizations, and third-party rejections. This role also resolves orders through the External Adjudication queue and ensures compliance with quality assurance standards, controlled substance security procedures, and hazardous drug disposal regulations

• Collaboration with pharmacy team members is essential to maintain accuracy, regulatory compliance, and high standards of patient care

• Final dispensing quality checks are performed to ensure prescription accuracy and appropriate dosage prior to release



Job Duties:

• Review patient profiles, drug interactions, sensitivities, and medication databases

• Determine if prescriptions require physician clarification or therapeutic intervention

• Enter prescriptions into the computer system

• Respond to incoming patient medication questions and concerns

• Contact physicians to resolve prescription-related issues

• Assist in doctor phone call area and therapeutic intervention as assigned

• Maintain quality assurance procedures

• Ensure security of controlled substances

• Ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste drugs

• Collaborate with pharmacy team members to ensure prescription accuracy

• Dispense prescription medications

• Perform final dispensing quality checks for accuracy and dosage

• Resolve third-party rejections through the External Adjudication queue

• Navigate prior authorizations as required



Specific Details to Call Attention To:

• Active California Pharmacist license required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required

• Minimum two years of pharmacist experience required

• Must be comfortable handling physician communication and prior authorizations

• Specialty pharmacy or PBM experience strongly preferred

• Monday through Friday schedule

• Varying 8-hour shifts between 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM PST
