• Previous pharmacy experience in a retail pharmacy setting

• Previous pharmacy experience in a hospital pharmacy setting

• Experience in specialty pharmacy

• Experience in home infusion therapy



Clinical Pharmacist Overview

• Responsible for dispensing prescriptions and coordinating clinical services for specialty medications

• Serves as a key clinical resource supporting patient care and pharmacy operations

• Collaborates with physicians, healthcare professionals, patients, and pharmacy staff to ensure safe and accurate medication dispensing

• Reviews patient medication profiles, drug interactions, allergies, sensitivities, and medication usage information

• Evaluates prescriptions for accuracy and identifies situations requiring physician clarification or therapeutic intervention

• Performs prescription entry and documentation activities within pharmacy systems

• Supports patient services by responding to medication-related questions and concerns

• Coordinates communication with physicians regarding prescription clarifications and therapy-related issues

• Maintains compliance with quality assurance standards, controlled substance handling procedures, and hazardous drug disposal requirements

• Performs final prescription verification and quality review prior to dispensing

• Supports specialty pharmacy operations while maintaining high standards of patient safety, regulatory compliance, and customer service

• Utilizes pharmacy systems and adjudication workflows to support prescription processing and issue resolution

• Works collaboratively with pharmacy personnel to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of prescriptions



Job Duties

• Dispense prescription medications and specialty pharmaceuticals

• Coordinate clinical services related to specialty medications

• Review patient medication profiles and prescription information

• Evaluate drug interactions, sensitivities, allergies, and medication usage history

• Determine when physician clarification or therapeutic intervention is required

• Enter prescription information into pharmacy systems

• Resolve prescription processing issues through adjudication workflows

• Respond to patient medication questions and concerns

• Contact physicians regarding prescription clarifications and follow-up requests

• Support therapeutic intervention activities as assigned

• Perform prescription compounding when required

• Conduct final prescription verification and dispensing quality checks

• Maintain controlled substance security procedures

• Follow hazardous drug disposal protocols

• Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure prescription accuracy

• Maintain compliance with pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality standards
