Job Description
Required Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or PharmD
Required License/Certification:
• Active Nevada Pharmacist license in good standing
Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a pharmacist
• Previous pharmacy experience in a retail, specialty, or long-term care setting
• Experience dispensing prescriptions and performing final verification checks
• Experience reviewing patient profiles, drug interactions, and medication sensitivities
• Experience communicating with physicians, patients, and healthcare professionals regarding prescriptions and medication concerns
• Knowledge of therapeutic interventions and prescription clarification processes
• Ability to resolve adjudication and insurance-related prescription issues
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic computer and pharmacy system experience
• Ability to work onsite during scheduled overnight/evening shifts

• Experience working in specialty pharmacy environments
• Experience handling External Adjudication (EA) queues
• Previous long-term care pharmacy experience

Pharmacist Overview:
• This position is responsible for dispensing prescriptions and coordinating clinical services for specialty medications at the branch location
• The Pharmacist will interact closely with healthcare professionals, physicians, patients, and internal pharmacy staff to support high-quality patient care and ensure prescription accuracy and compliance
• Responsibilities include reviewing patient profiles, evaluating drug interactions and sensitivities, entering prescriptions into pharmacy systems, performing compounds, and conducting final dispensing quality checks
• The role also involves resolving prescription clarification issues, supporting therapeutic interventions, and assisting with adjudication-related activities through the External Adjudication (EA) queue
• The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced pharmacy environment
• Candidates must be comfortable communicating with patients and providers by phone and email while maintaining compliance with pharmacy regulations, controlled substance procedures, and hazardous drug disposal standards
• This is an urgent staffing need with the potential for full-time conversion based on performance and business needs
Job Duties:
• Dispense prescription medications and perform final quality verification checks
• Review patient profiles, drug interactions, sensitivities, and medication usage
• Determine when prescriptions require physician clarification or therapeutic intervention
• Enter prescription information into pharmacy systems accurately
• Perform pharmaceutical compounding as required
• Resolve prescription and insurance-related issues through adjudication processes
• Communicate with physicians regarding prescription concerns and clarifications
• Assist patients with medication-related questions and concerns
• Support therapeutic intervention and doctor call activities as assigned
• Maintain compliance with quality assurance procedures and pharmacy regulations
• Ensure proper handling and security of controlled substances
• Follow hazardous drug disposal procedures and safety guidelines
• Collaborate with pharmacy team members to ensure prescription accuracy and workflow efficiency
