Job Description
Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy



Preferred Education

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)



Required License/Certification

• Active state pharmacist license in good standing



Required Experience

• At least two years of experience as a pharmacist

• Previous pharmacy experience in a PBM or Prior Authorization environment

• Experience reviewing and completing prior authorization criteria according to policy and procedure

• Basic computer skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills



Pharmacist Overview

• Responsible for reviewing and completing prior authorization criteria in accordance with established policies and procedures

• Applies pharmacy knowledge and established guidelines to support accurate and timely prior authorization reviews

• Requires a pharmacist with an active license in good standing and at least two years of pharmacist experience

• Previous experience in a PBM or Prior Authorization environment is required

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and basic computer proficiency are important for success in this position

• Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for effectively performing the responsibilities of the role



Job Duties

• Review and complete criteria for prior authorization requests in accordance with established policies and procedures

• Apply applicable policies and procedures when reviewing prior authorization criteria

• Complete prior authorization activities accurately and in a timely manner
