• 1+ year of payroll experience or relevant HR/accounting experience with direct payroll responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential employee information.
• Proficiency with Workday, Google Workspace and Microsoft Office products.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
• 1+ year of payroll tax experience.
• Experience with multi-state payroll.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Experience with payroll audits and reconciliations.
• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) certification.

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support accurate and timely payroll processing while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. This role will be responsible for payroll processing, payroll audits, reconciliations, employee support, tax compliance, reporting, and maintaining accurate payroll records. The ideal candidate has strong payroll fundamentals, experience with multi-state payroll and payroll taxes, and the ability to work collaboratively with HR, Finance, and other internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
• Process accurate and timely biweekly and/or semimonthly payroll for employees.
• Perform daily and weekly payroll audits to identify and correct discrepancies.
• Maintain payroll records for new hires, terminations, deductions, benefits, and other employee changes.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax and wage-and-hour requirements.
• Prepare and distribute pay statements, W-2s, and other payroll reports.
• Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, taxes, and payroll policies.
• Reconcile payroll and assist with month-end and year-end reporting.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and other internal teams to ensure payroll data and processes remain aligned across systems.
• Support internal and external payroll audits and compliance reviews.
• Assist with identifying and resolving payroll discrepancies and process issues.
