Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience
• Experience with ADP Smart Compliance or other third-party payroll tax provider
• Five years’ experience with high volume multi-state payroll tax
• Experience in handling notices for federal and state withholding and unemployment taxes
• Demonstrated understanding of and experience with Federal, State, and Local payroll tax regulations and filings required
• Strong State experience in NY and CA
• Demonstrates strong understanding of payroll tax adjustments within payroll systems to ensure accurate compliance and reporting
• Must be detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills
• Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Proactive with excellent follow-up skills
• Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure

Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience
• Experience with SAP ECP Payroll or another large-scale ERP
• Experience supporting external unemployment advising
• Experience managing state audits
• Experience with payroll tax system upgrades and enhancements

Overview:
Responsible for timely and accurate remittance of Federal, State, and Local payroll taxes for US entities doing business in multiple states and localities to third-party vendor. Responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the data provided to third-party vendor. Preparation, reconciliation, and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual withholding and unemployment tax returns. Manage State audits for all entities. Preparation, reconciliation, and review of Forms W-2C and amendment of associated payroll tax returns. Monthly reconciliation of Company Divisions payroll balance sheet accounts. Quarterly and annual reconciliation of employee equity. Provide analytical assistance to divisional Accounting Departments for matters related to payroll tax and deduction liability accounts. Manage the process to add or deactivate jurisdictions for all entities including divisional entities on external payroll. Responsible for execution and documentation of SOX tests. Research and respond to payroll tax related inquiries from employees, agencies, and other third parties. Provide support on matters related to external unemployment advising. Act as liaison with Treasury Department regarding transfers of all related payroll tax payments. Manage testing of all payroll tax system upgrades and enhancements prior to production implementation, including documenting of test scenarios and scripts. Special projects as assigned.

Specific Details to call attention to.
• No specific industry experience required
• ADP Smart Compliance or similar third-party payroll tax provider experience is highly preferred
• Strong New York and California payroll tax experience is especially important
• SAP ECP Payroll or other large-scale ERP experience is a nice to have
• Candidate should be highly detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working under pressure
