Job Description
Required Education:

• High School Diploma



Shift:

• 7:00 PM to 3:30 AM, Sunday to Saturday with rotation every other weekend



Work Schedule:

• 32 hours per week, 4 days a week



Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• 1 to 3 years of related experience, preferably in hospital registration

• Knowledge of third-party insurance verification process

• Excellent customer service skills

• Basic knowledge of hospital registration requirements

• Experience involving public contact, clerical or reception work

• Experience with cash handling, reconciliation, or cash balancing

• Ability to use multiple business software applications simultaneously

• Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills

• Basic math proficiency

• Ability to prioritize and multitask

• Typing speed of at least 25 WPM with 10-key proficiency

• Excellent attendance and reliability required

• Ability to work opening shift and handle first surgery cases

Job Summary:

• Acts as the first point of contact for patients and members

• Assists patients through the registration process with minimal supervision

• Ensures proper cash handling and reconciliation per company policies

• Focuses on delivering excellent patient/member experience

• Builds rapport and maintains professional relationships with patients

• Responds promptly to patient needs and resolves issues effectively

• Seeks to understand patient circumstances, problems, and expectations



Job Responsibilities:

• Collect and enter patient demographics in the hospital surgery department

• Obtain signatures on required consent and regulatory forms

• Collect patient payments accurately

• Greet patients and determine their needs

• Verify identification and register patients for services

• Review and determine patient account status using available systems

• Create or select appropriate patient accounts based on benefits, eligibility, and patient liability

• Support coordination of benefits and third-party processes

• Serve as an ambassador by maintaining professional, respectful, and courteous behavior

• Deliver a high-quality patient/member experience at all times
