Job Description
Required Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent



Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• 1–3 years of experience in hospital registration or similar healthcare setting

• Knowledge of third-party insurance verification processes

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Experience with patient demographics entry and registration workflows

• Cash handling and reconciliation experience

• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

• Basic math proficiency

• Typing speed of at least 25 WPM with 10-key proficiency

• Comfortable with continuous public/patient interaction



Overview:

• Position: Patient Access Representative / Hospital Registration

• Location: Baldwin Park, CA 91706

• Work Type: Full-time, onsite only (40 hours per week)

• Shift: 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, Sunday to Saturday (rotating weekends)

• Travel: No travel required

• Health screening required prior to start

• Parking: Paid employee parking

• Dress Code: Business Casual



Job Summary:

• Acts as the first point of contact for patients and members

• Assists patients through the hospital registration process with minimal supervision

• Ensures accurate data entry, proper documentation, and compliance with policies

• Maintains focus on delivering excellent patient experience and satisfaction

• Handles patient interactions with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency



Job Responsibilities:

• Collect and enter patient demographics in the hospital surgery department

• Obtain required signatures on consent and regulatory forms

• Collect patient payments and perform cash handling duties

• Verify insurance eligibility and patient account status

• Create or select appropriate patient accounts based on benefits and liability

• Provide excellent customer service and build rapport with patients

• Prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently

• Support all first surgery cases with strong attendance and punctuality

• Follow all compliance and registration protocols
