Job Description
Required Education:
• High School Diploma

Expected Shift:
• 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
• Flexible schedule as needed

Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• 1–3 years of related experience
• Experience in a surgery clinic setting
• Knowledge of third-party insurance verification
• Excellent customer service skills
• Basic knowledge of hospital registration requirements
• Experience with public contact, clerical or reception
• Experience with cash handling or reconciliation
• Ability to use multiple business software applications
• Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills
• Basic math proficiency
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Typing 25 WPM
• 10-key proficiency
• Reliable attendance (critical for morning surgery cases)

Preferred Qualifications:
• Epic experience preferred (not required)

Overview:
• This role supports patient access and registration within the hospital surgery department.
• Requires strong customer service
• Accuracy in patient data entry
• Ability to assist patients with forms and payments
• Must be reliable and professional

Job Summary:
• Serve as the first point of contact for patients
• Assist with registration process under minimal supervision
• Enter accurate patient demographics
• Obtain signatures on required forms

• Use available resources to determine account status
• Handle constant public contact with professionalism

Job Responsibilities:
• Greet patients and determine needs
• Request identification and register patients
• Enter and update patient demographics
• Verify benefits, eligibility, and patient liability
• Obtain signatures on consents and regulatory forms
• Collect payments and follow cash-handling guidelines
• Ensure accurate documentation
• Maintain multitasking efficiency
