• 3–5 years of related experience, including:

• Experience working with databases and data entry systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

• Knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare

• Experience supporting state hearings or regulatory processes
Paralegal Overview
• Provides legal support to the Medicaid legal team focused on State Fair Hearing processes
• Supports compliance with federal and state regulations through accurate file management and case handling
• Works closely with attorneys on litigation-related matters, documentation, and hearing preparation
• Responsible for reviewing legal documents, maintaining hearing databases, and ensuring timely processing of case materials
• Ideal for detail-oriented professionals with litigation experience and strong knowledge of legal terminology and healthcare regulations.
Job Duties
• Review and manage case files related to Medicaid State Fair Hearings
• Update and maintain hearing databases with accurate case information
• Triage and process incoming legal mail including:
• Hearing requests
• Motions
• Orders
• Other legal correspondence
• Ensure timely handling of all documentation in compliance with federal and state requirements
• Assist attorneys with case preparation and ongoing legal projects
• Generate, review, and organize electronic legal documents
• Maintain data accuracy within legal and case management systems
• Support compliance and documentation standards across all cases.
Specific Details to Call Attention To
• ABA-approved Paralegal Certification is mandatory
• Must have 3+ years of litigation experience (non-negotiable)
• Experience with Medicaid/Medicare is highly preferred
• Role involves high-volume document review and data entry
• Requires strong ability to triage legal mail and manage deadlines
• Must be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
