Job Description
Required Education.

• High School diploma or GED.



Required Skills.

• Ability to effectively and safely use hand tools and small power tools.

• Ability to read wiring diagrams.

• Ability to follow directions and is detail-oriented.



Basic Qualifications.

• Basic computer skills and use of basic mechanical/measuring tools.

• Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English Language.

• Make coordinated movements of the hands and arms to grasp and move objects.

• Lift parts or sub-assemblies that weigh up to 75lbs, push/pull/slide heavy material.

• Stoop, bend, squat, crawl, and climb.



Responsibilities.

• Assembles or modifies electronic equipment (e.g., Building Automation, Fire, and Security Control Panels) with the use of electromechanical tools and equipment and wiring schematics.

• Operates tools and equipment common to the mechanical and/or wiring trade (e.g., hand & power tools, wire strippers, pliers, crimpers).

• Reads and interprets documents associated with the completion of mechanical and/or wiring assembly assignments (e.g., Blueprints, bill of materials, one-line diagrams, etc.).

• Gathers parts and accessories required in the assembly process.

• Assembles fabricated parts to build unit assemblies or subassemblies; fastens component parts on frames, subassemblies, or unit assemblies, and connects cables and basic wires.

• Verifies that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.

• Disassemble units to adjust or replace parts.

• Marks unit assemblies with identifying information and/or attaches identifying tags.

• Reports non-conforming items (e.g., parts, schematics, blueprints, etc.)

• Prepares finished units for shipping (e.g. packing, sealing, labeling, etc.)

• Cleans and maintains equipment and work area to ensure accurate functioning and safe working conditions.

• Accesses and applies various documents, with the use of computers, associated with the manufacture of products in assembly (e.g., Quality and Safety Documents, Operating Instructions, etc.)

• Performs other work as advised by Supervision.
