Job Description
***Only qualified Assembler 1 General candidates located near the Durham North Carolina area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence***
Required Education
* High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required
Required Experience
* 0 to 1 year of manufacturing or assembly experience
* Solid work history with at least 1 to 2 years with an employer
* Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools
* Experience following standard operating procedures, work instructions and assembly drawings
Tech Skills
* Ability to assemble mechanical and electrical subassemblies using hand and power tools
* Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, diagrams and written instructions
* Basic math skills and ability to perform simple calculations
* Ability to perform basic in-process inspections and identify defects
* Ability to support testing and basic troubleshooting of assemblies
* Ability to accurately complete production documentation
Soft Skills
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Effective communication with team members and leadership
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment
* Willingness to learn new processes and skills
* Positive attitude and team oriented approach
* Ability to rotate between workstations and tasks based on production needs
Responsibilities
* Assemble mechanical and electrical subassemblies using hand and power tools according to work instructions and standard operating procedures
* Integrate components into larger assemblies ensuring proper fit alignment and functionality
* Follow detailed assembly drawings diagrams and written instructions
* Perform basic in process inspections to verify quality and identify defects
* Support testing and basic troubleshooting of assemblies as needed
* Maintain a clean and organized work area according to 5S standards
* Complete production documentation accurately and track work performed
* Communicate issues material shortages and defects to the Team Lead or Supervisor in a timely manner
* Participate in continuous improvement efforts and team based problem solving
* Adhere to all safety policies procedures quality standards and compliance requirements
* Maintain regular and reliable attendance
* Work flexible hours and overtime as required by business needs
Physical Demands
* Stand walk or sit for extended periods
* Frequently use hands for tool operation and component assembly
* Lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
* Bend stoop and reach during assembly tasks
