Job Description
Required Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
Required Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in legal operations, with specific experience in rate management, outside counsel management, or a related role within a corporate legal department or law firm
Required Qualifications:
• The highest priority is a Legal Operations background (and experience with timekeeper rate cards).
• Experience managing high-volume invoice review and approval processes, with a strong understanding of the end-to-end invoice lifecycle, including work in progress, invoicing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Knowledge of timekeeper rate cards.
• Looking for someone to help approve outside counsel timekeeper rates (pricing arrangements)
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment where you’ll work on multiple projects at the same time, while meeting tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
• Should understand the end-to-end process of an outside counsel invoice, and knowledge in any administering matter management tools (such as CounselLink, Collaborati, TeamConnect, eCounsel)
Required Technical Skills:
• Experience with SAP or Oracle.
• Hands-on experience administering eBilling platforms (e.g., CounselLink, Collaborati, TeamConnect, eCounsel).
• Experience with some type of ERP, preferably Oracle, as they will be pulling reports, but not necessarily with processing payments. SAP is acceptable; however, this is not the highest priority for this role
• Should have a background in Excel
• Experienced in VLOOKUP or making pivot tables, basic formulas
Responsibilities:
• Help working within a legal department, understanding hourly timekeeper rates, and having a background in working with outside counsel
• There will be inquiries from outside counsel to be resolved; this person will approve invoices from outside counsel and be responsible for ensuring information is accurate
• They will also participate in ad hoc projects, as this team is working through transformation
• The ad hoc projects may involve pulling reports, reviewing, and analyzing information for these reports - **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**
