Required Skills/ Experience

• 5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure support

• Experience with Cisco networking (switching, routing, VLANs, basic diagnostics)

• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory (user/group management, authentication concepts)

• Experience with virtualization platforms, preferably Proxmox

• Experience working with Linux systems (basic administration, services, logs, troubleshooting)

• Experience supporting systems in manufacturing, industrial, laboratory, or regulated environments

• Familiarity with cybersecurity or network segmentation concepts in OT environments

• Working knowledge of IT fundamentals, including servers, networking, virtualization, and operating systems.

• Experience in troubleshooting system availability, performance, and connectivity issues.

• Ability to work effectively at the interface of IT and operational technology (OT) systems.

• Ability to follow structured troubleshooting and incident response processes.

• Strong documentation and communication skills, particularly when working across technical disciplines.

• Ability to prioritize tasks during system outages or high-impact events.





We are seeking an IT Technician to support the reliability, availability, and day-to-day operation of IT and network infrastructure that underpins automation, control, and manufacturing systems within a campus environment. This role works closely with Senior Control Systems Technicians and Control Systems Engineers to troubleshoot and resolve IT, server, virtualization, and network-related issues that impact control systems, building automation, and industrial applications. The position is heavily focused on system sustainment, troubleshooting, and uptime, rather than new system design or large-scale implementations.



Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine system administration tasks to support high availability of IT systems supporting automation, control, and manufacturing operations.

• Monitor system health and respond to incidents to minimize downtime and service disruptions.

• Troubleshoot and resolve IT and network-related issues impacting control systems in collaboration with Control Systems Engineers and Senior Control Systems Technicians.

• Support and maintain on-premises infrastructure, including servers, virtual machines, storage, and network devices used for industrial and control system applications.

• Perform system updates, patches, and basic maintenance activities following approved procedures and change controls.

• Assist with diagnosing network communications issues affecting control systems, automation platforms, and field devices.

• Support identity, authentication, and access-related tasks for systems integrated with directory services.

• Maintain system documentation, network diagrams, configuration records, and troubleshooting notes.

• Escalate complex issues appropriately and clearly communicate system status, risks, and corrective actions to senior technical staff.

• Support backup, recovery, and basic disaster recovery tasks as directed.

• Follow cybersecurity, access control, and system hardening requirements applicable to industrial and manufacturing environments.
