Required Skills and Experience

• 1+ years of quality assurance experience

• Experience reviewing different types of medical records

• Experience working in a production environment

• Ability to learn multiple work types and apply multiple levels of actions within each work type

• Strong verbal, listening, and written communication skills

• Strong attention to detail

• 2+ years of intermediate proficiency with Windows PC applications and Microsoft Office products

• Ability to learn new and complex computer system applications

• Experience working in a remote/virtual environment



Preferred Skills

• Additional healthcare industry experience

• Experience supporting medical coding quality or medical record validation

• Experience working in quality assurance within healthcare operations



Job Duties

• Perform quality reviews of medical records using established criteria to ensure accuracy.

• Validate coding rejections against medical documentation.

• Identify charts requiring second-level review while meeting productivity expectations.

• Maintain confidentiality and protect PHI in accordance with HIPAA requirements and company policies.

• Participate in meetings and attend all required training sessions.

• Adhere to team expectations by consistently applying quality assurance best practices.

• Stay current on policies, procedures, and process updates.

• Utilize Windows-based applications and Microsoft Office to complete daily work.

• Navigate multiple systems while efficiently learning new computer applications.



Typical Day

• Review medical records for coding accuracy.

• Validate rejected coding decisions.

• Determine whether records require additional quality review.

• Work within multiple systems while meeting productivity goals.

• Attend team meetings and training sessions.

• Collaborate with experienced quality analysts.

• Ensure HIPAA compliance throughout all work activities.
