Mechanical Engineer Overview:
The main function of a mechanical engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. A typical mechanical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibilities include maintaining overall machine layout and arrangements and maintaining Bill of Material(BOM) structure including all attachments.
- This position also performs configuration reviews within the Teamcenter-Global Engineering Change process.
- This position reviews design changes to ensure they are error-free and collaborates closely with all supporting system design teams and with down stream supporting teams such as supply chain and manufacturing.
- This position works closely with product Platform Lead engineers to review new and update proposed designs.
Typical task breakdown:
- Review engineering Change Notices in Teamcenter
- Review proposed new design or design revision to confirm solution suitability with overall machine layout
- Maintain Machine CREO model integrity
